The Daily Express (a journal for kids) is a great way to open up a line of communication with your child while teaching and focusing on the importance of being grateful for what we have, recognizing our feelings, expressing our thoughts for the day, setting goals and expressing wishes, performing random acts of kindness to build great self-esteem, and acknowledging the people around us that bring us smiles.
This journal can be used for 90-days. Your child will be challenged with 45-ways to perform “Random Acts of Kindness” throughout their journey (with your help, of course). Even if you perform only a handful, that is success!! The goal is to create HABIT and once you perform a habit over and over again, it becomes EASY.
Your child will have the opportunity to recognize teachers, siblings, their community, friends, and family. They will be given the opportunity to proclaim their greatness by finishing an “I am…” statement. I am happy. I am excited. I am strong.
The best part is that this journal will give your child an outlet for their emotions, feelings, dreams, and ways to give back in a creative way via writing and drawing. Spending a few minutes a day in this journal will become something you will look forward to each and every morning (afternoon or evening)!
“One of the most robust findings in the field of positive psychology is on the benefits of gratitude. It helps stave off depression, evokes positive emotions in others, and increases well-being.
Gratitude is not about blindly ignoring the bad, the ugly, or the cruel. It is certainly not fostering the belief that everything that happens is for the best. It IS about fostering the habit of noticing that there are stars in the night. A good thing to remember in this darkest part of the day.” *
Enjoy the journey!
