In 2023, my dear friend Kristine was diagnosed with blood cancer—a heartbreaking reminder of life’s fragility. Her resilience inspired me to join the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Visionary of the Year campaign. With our community’s incredible support, we raised nearly $105,000 by June 2024, and I was honored to be named LLS Visionary of the Year.
Now, as an LLS Board of Trustees member, my commitment to this cause is stronger than ever. I’m thrilled to announce the return of the Get Down and Derby event on March 19, 2025—an evening of fun, inspiration, and hope.

Kentucky Derby Hat Contest - All men and women are invited to participate in the Hat Contest. There will be secret judges throughout cocktail hour choosing the best hats to fit these three categories:
Most Elegant
Most Creative
Largest!

How do you know when a whiskey is sweet? Can you distinguish between caramel, honey and syrup? What does vanilla really smell like?
You may know what spicy is, but is it minty, herbal, peppery, rye bread? What distinguishes a cherry from a green apple or a banana?
Taking the time to go through these nuances can really make a difference when it comes to nosing whiskey.

Mint Julep Station
The Mint Julep is the traditional drink of the Kentucky Derby, which has helped propel the cocktail's popularity. Tens of thousands of Mint Juleps are served at Churchill Downs in Louisville, and countless more are enjoyed by fans watching the race throughout the country.
We are happy to say, we are serving Mint Juleps at our event.
